Overview of results

  • Provides a user management platform for multiple systems
  • Fully hosted on Microsoft Azure
  • Integration with Azure Active Directory for security and user management

Objective

NPPA either had or intended to develop several Azure hosted based systems. But while Azure Active Directory provides a platform for secure user credential management single-sign-on access, no portal or user-friendly management was available.

Solution

Working closely with NPPA in an Agile fashion, we developed a bespoke front-end user management system hosted on the Azure cloud. To utilise the security and user credentials management benefits of Active Directory (AD), API’s were required to access AD in a controlled manner.

In addition, a portal was built in Microsoft SharePoint Online so that users of the system can easily located the services they need.

Outcome

The User Management system has enabled NPPA grow and manage user access in a consistent and secure way. Onboarding of new users involves a simple process whereby all parties are informed of the status.

Multiple specialised services can now be integrated under the same ‘umbrella’, utilising Azure AD.

Technology

The system has been developed on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform, Azure Active Directory, Microsoft .Net (C#), Microsoft SQL on Azure, and SharePoint Online.
